The first dual training graduates of Perm Aviation Technical College and “UEC-Perm Engines” win the gold

On June 28th Perm Aviation Technical College (PATC) held a ceremony of granting the diplomas to the graduates in “Mechanical engineering technology”. One of the three groups was experimental: the students have been learning for two years in a dual training project and, according to the teachers, showed impressive results. Five of 18 dual training students got the diplomas with honors.

While granting the graduation documents the college director Alexander Dicheskul emphasized that since long ago this speciality has not seen such successful diploma theses as these ones made at “UEC-Perm Engines”. All themes of the diploma works had been coordinated with the Chief Manufacturing Engineer Division of the company and the practical parts were all based on the components manufactured in the shops where the students had their on-the-job training.

“Now I can say with assurance that our first experience in dual education has succeeded mostly due to the support of Perm Engines and knowledgeable organization of the training process by its HR division, – said Alexander Dicheskul. – Our graduates are smart, promising and what most important – young and bold. They have an excellent educational basis, wonderful opportunities for development and who knows, maybe one of them will become the next director of “Perm Engines”.

One more qualitative result of dual training  is the victory of Ivan Kazakov in the finals of the national championship WorldSkills Russia -2017. He also won the second place in the competence CNC milling operations.

Yury Fattakhov, head of Aviation Training Center of JSC UEC-Perm Engines congratulated the graduates and awarded to the most active of them the certificates for participation in the International Aerospace Exhibition in Zhukovsky. Several people will also be sent for training at higher educational institutions as part of a target set.

“Now you are the specialists with diplomas ready for a full time job on the production floor – said Yury Fattakhaov.  – When you come to the HR department of Perm Engines you can expect an especially welcome approach. We hope that the next generation of students will be able to reach the high bar that you set”.

Anait Karakhanyan a honorable graduate of PATC says that one of the advantages of dual training system is that you do not need to learn the theory that much. You get to know all the process in practice. In the near future Anait will come to Perm Engines to work as a manufacturing engineer and from September will enroll in distance educational course of Aerospace faculty of Perm Technical University.

One more talented alumnus of PATC, Nikita Akhapkin, the best student of the year 2016 and 2017, pointed out that it was really important for him to assert himself at various professional contests including the Russian WorldSkills competition. “Dual training gave me a chance to speak with the representatives of the company in the same professional language, – shares Nikita. – Now I am going to the army, but in a year I will surely come back to the plant. I intend to develop myself further and enter Moscow Aviation Institute”.

According to the common action plan the company and college intend to form groups of dual training students in the speciality “Aircraft engine production”. In the new academic year training of students in “Machine engineering technology” will also continue.
