Center of additive technologies will appear in Perm

On Perm Engines territory Center of additive technologies - conjoint project of UEC-Perm Engines and UEC-Aviadvigatel - will be established in the main building of the company.

Actually the facility for new equipment has been prepared: one machine has been installed and, according to space-planning concept, eight more units of equipment are expected. The project is split into 2 steps: reconstruction of the facility, equipment purchasing and installation, and in 2018 – commissioning of one more facility equipped with big printer machines, which will be applied for manufacturing of low-emission combustor chamber (LECC) parts.

There is the list of parts manufactured in comply with additive technologies used in new generation PD-14 engine. The major nomenclature is combustor chamber swirler as well as premixer of LECC to manufacture industrial engines. Further the item nomenclature is planned to be extended – with the production of external engine build up – heat-protection panel, brackets and quadrants.

Up to the recent time the swirlers for the pilot batch of PD-14 have been manufactured by All-Russian scientific research institute of aviation materials. In the nearest time the technologies and the license for their production will be transferred to UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Engines. Consequently in Perm the serial production of the parts will be set up on the basis of the brand new advanced technologies.

Viktor Martynov, Technical Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines:

-Usage of additive technologies will allow reducing the cost of part manufacturing (and engines produced by the company) along with realizing the parts with complex configuration which are impossible to obtain by standard production techniques – founding, forging, etc. Big virtue is also in treatment complexity decrease and in minimization of human factor influence.
