Winners of Multidisciplinary Olympiad Star in Perm developed projects of water attraction and aviataxi

Laureates and winners of Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad Star were awarded in Perm Engines: 206 schoolers have participated in the contest in Perm and Perm Krai and 28 of them have gained the highest scores. 16 people were awarded with diplomas of I place, 10 people – II place, 2 people – III place. Youngsters from Perm, Nytva, Vereshchagino, Chusovoy, Chernushka, set. Oktyabrskiy, set. Zvyozdnyi, Kungur had a chance to take part in the Olympiad for the first time thanks to Perm regional branch of Russian Engineering Union and JSC UEC-Perm Engines.

The Olympiad was split into two rounds. In the elimination round it was offered to solve advanced tasks in Physics. The tasks of the second round, which about one hundred people took part in, distinguished with their sophistication and ingenuity. According to Natalya Sanina, Deputy Dean of Aerospace Faculty on pre-university and career guidance work of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU), nobody expected that instead of traditional tasks the participants would be offered to draw up project and research works. “Kids should have made up a project, described it and provided scientific proof in support of the design as well as its fancy decoration”, said Natalya A. Sanina.

4 hours were given to accomplish the final task. All the lines were different – “Aviation and Aerospace Systems”, “Materials Engineering”, “Shipbuilding Engineering and Technologies”, etc. For instance, in material engineering Kirill Filimonov (11th grade, School No.96, Perm) designed water attraction for children. “I have offered to build the attraction out of ordinary materials – steel, plastic, rubber and cared about safety, cost and aesthetics – made a good looking draft”, shared Kirill.

Olga Kuznetsova (11th grade, School No. 76, Perm) worked on the project of aviataxi. As the result she got airborne vehicle on new fuel basis. “An aircraft dummy I covered with one more envelope and suggested using gas which is lighter than air between external and internal ducts. At the end we receive cost efficient, practical and safe transport”, explained Olya.

Olga Krasavina, HR Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines, congratulated the children and awarded the diplomas and memorable stars:

-Hosting of Star Olympiad in Perm is a significant event for us. I hope your knowledge and cum-savvy to cope with great challenges will be put in place in our industry, in Perm Engines.
